Faced with several crooked boards that needed ruler-straight edges and a job site with no jointer, I had to find another way to straighten the stock. As shown in the drawing, I teamed up my tablesaw with a 6-ft. level to get the job done.
I fashioned a couple of wooden blocks to fit into the level’s finger holes. The drawing shows how the tops of the blocks are shaped to fit snugly into the finger holes, locking the blocks in place. A brad through each block pins the level to the stock.
To use this setup, I place the level atop a crooked piece of stock so that the level overhangs the concave edge, where it can bear against the saw’s fence during the cut.

an older tip no doubt, and in a pinch this works but I recommend using a track saw if you have one
