As an architectural photographer, these two simple outbuildings on the island of North Haven, Maine represent something important to me. I’ve always been attracted to rural architecture, especially when it is modest and unadorned. But when I see simple and functional buildings sited in a beautiful and unspoiled landscape, like these are, then I feel compelled to shoot. In this case, a sense of quietness and isolation from the rush and noise of urban life is borne out in the wind driven schooner going by in the distance. Living in Maine offers many such opportunities to discover interesting architecture in beautiful and peaceful environments. I love it here…
