Problem-Solving Stretch Wrap
A roll of plastic wrap can be used for material bundling, binding shut doors and drawers for transport, making insuation easier to carry, keeping router bits from getting dull in a tool box, and many more useful tasks.
I do not leave my driveway without a roll or two of single-handled plastic stretch wrap in my truck. In addition to the obvious uses like bundling long material such as trim boards and siding planks for hauling, I use this tool wrap to keep cabinet doors and drawers shut for transport and to make old rolls of carpet and insulation batts easier to carry. I wrap up leftover shingles and flooring for efficient storage and to create a place where I can write a brief description with a marker.
I use stretch wrap to protect finished surfaces from getting scuffed by a circular saw plate, to prevent dirty ladder bumpers from leaving smudges on walls, and to keep sharp router bits from getting dull as they bounce around in the toolbox. I also use it to seal up bags of powdered goods like concrete and drywall compound, to cover paintbrushes to keep them from drying between breaks, and even to cover the ends of pipes to prevent them from getting dirty or marred before the fitting is installed. This list is nowhere near complete, and I bet you can find another dozen uses for this wonderful stuff. A 5-in. by 100-ft. roll costs around $10.
